Fresh Blueberry Sauce
4 cups washed and drained blueberries or huckleberries or both!
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup Artificial Sweetener or regular Sugar
Pinch of Salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
1/4 cup water (optional)
Put all of the ingredients in a large pan. Set on medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil 7 minutes then remove from heat. It will thicken as it cools. If it doesn't thicken enough to your liking, I mixed 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of cold water. Mix well together then slowly pour into hot mixture, stirring constantly until well blended.
Let cool completely. Makes about 2 1/4 cups sauce
